The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met on Monday, February 11, 2019, with Valérie Gomez-Bassac French deputy from "Republique En Marche" and member of presidential majority in France.


At this meeting attended by Corcas member Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, Corcas chief reminded his host that autonomy initiative elaborated by Sahrawis in 2006, and presented by Morocco to the UN in 2007 , allowed to impulse a new dynamic for the Sahara which has been frozen for many years because of the intransigence of Algeria and Polisario.


Valérie Gomez-Bassac is a member of the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Education in the French National Assembly.


She is also a member of the European Affairs Committee (National Assembly) as rapporteur of the parliamentary working group on "democratic conventions for a re-foundation of Europe"
