The Kingdom of Bahrain reiterated, on Tuesday evening in Rabat, its "continued" support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Kingdom of Bahrain reaffirms its position on "the Moroccanness of the Sahara and reiterates that any solution to this artificial regional dispute must be under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco in full respect of its territorial integrity," Bahraini foreign minister, Khaled Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, said at a press briefing following talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

In this context, the Bahraini top diplomat said that his country supports Morocco "against any threat or attack to its sovereignty".

For his part, Bourita underlined that Morocco rejects any attack on the stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain and supports all measures taken in this regard.

The two countries are bound by "exceptional" relations rooted in friendship and brotherhood, he added, noting that these relations have developed well in several areas since the visit paid by HM King Mohammed VI to Bahrain in April 2016.

He also underscored the need to raise bilateral economic cooperation to the level of the political and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Following the talks between the two ministers, the 4th session of the Moroccan-Bahraini High Joint Committee was held.

Relations between Morocco and the Kingdom of Bahrain have expanded since the visit paid by HM the King to Manama in April 2016.
