Some 1,987 candidates in the province of Oued Eddahab are running to win 161 seats in the legislative, regional and communal elections, according to data provided by local authorities.


As for the communal elections, 1,213 candidates from 28 lists are vying for the 35 seats in the municipality of Dakhla, while 233 candidates in the individual ballot are competing to win 96 seats in the territorial communities of El Argoub, Bir Inzaran, Imlili, Oum Driga, Glibat El Foula and Mijik.


Regarding the regional elections, the number of lists reached 27, with 675 candidates vying for 25 seats allocated to the province out of the 33 that make up the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab regional council.


For the legislative elections, 40 lists comprising 99 candidates, including 21 lists in the local constituency (42 candidates) are competing for two seats representing the province of Oued Eddahab in Parliament. In addition, 19 lists in the regional constituency and a list of women (57 candidates) are competing for three seats.
