Gambia's Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara reiterated Thursday in Rabat his country's "unambiguous" support for Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara.

"We have reiterated our unambiguous position on Morocco's sovereignty over it Sahara and on the territorial integrity of the Kingdom," Tangara told the press following talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans abroad, Nasser Bourita.

The Gambia was the first country to open a Consulate General in Dakhla and "we are proud to have done so," Tangara added, recalling that this initiative has since been followed by many countries.

The Moroccan FM received his Gambian counterpart who was carrying a message from President Adama Barrow to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
