Morocco's intervention to end the obstruction of civil and commercial traffic at El Guergarate border post received wide support, especially in Africa where several countries have affirmed their support for the " legitimate ”and“ peaceful ” response of the Kingdom and strongly condemned the illegal and provocative actions of Polisario separatists.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Sao Tome and Principe, Delfim Santiago Das Neves, has expressed his solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco and condemned the provocative acts of the Polisario militias in the region of Guergarate.

“It is with great sadness and with deep concern that we learned of the movement of Polisario militias, since October 21, in the buffer zone of Guergarate in the Moroccan Sahara, the acts of which cause an occasional blockage of the movement of people and goods in neighboring areas,” Das Neves points out in a statement received by the Moroccan News Agency (MAP).

In a context where all the countries of the world are confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic, "we consider this act as criminal, repugnant and condemnable which we do not agree with”, he said, while expressing on his behalf and on behalf of the people of Sao Tome and Principe solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco. He also reiterated the position of his country in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

Stressing that the Kingdom of Morocco and its people are unwavering supporters of tranquility and peace, he pointed out :"we believe that in the name of legality plausible solutions to the movement of people and goods will be found so as to be able to ensure the security of the population".

On this occasion, Mr. Das Neves expressed his wish to further strengthen friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, in particular within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
