The flagrant violations of human rights committed by the Polisario against the populations in the Tindouf camps on the Algerian territory were singled out on Wednesday night at the "Europa" Congress Palace in Vitoria Gasteiz, by the Spanish expert, Ignacio Ortiz Palacio.
At a conference on human rights in the Tindouf camps, Mr. Ortiz Palacio shone a spotlight on the atrocities perpetrated by Polisario torturers who seriously violate human rights, as well as enforced disappearances , arbitrary detentions and abuses by separatists, which require urgent intervention by the international community.
The Spanish researcher exposed the cases of Polisario victims, both detainees sequestered in Tindouf camps and civilians from neighboring countries, particularly Mauritania and Canary Islands, and deplored the suffering and calvary endured by these victims, as well as the atrocities and tortures they suffered from the hands of the separatists.
He also spoke of the numerous cases of enforced disappearances and the diversion by the separatists of humanitarian aid intended for the Saharawi populations which have been repeatedly revealed by international organizations.
