The United Arab Emirates has welcomed, at the United Nations General Assembly, Morocco's efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue in the framework of the UN-led process.

"We welcome the efforts of our brothers in the Kingdom of Morocco to reach a political solution to this issue," said Emirati minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. "My country believes that the political process is the best way to settle the issues of the region, and we appreciate, in this regard, the efforts of the United Nations, the international community and friendly countries. We also welcome the role of the United Nations Secretary-General in support of the political process on the Moroccan Sahara issue," he pointed out at the General Debate of the 74th session of the General Assembly, held from 24 to 30 September in New York.
