The Moroccan people celebrate Tuesday with pride and in a climate of strong mobilization under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, the 56th anniversary of the return of the city of Tarfaya (April 15, 1958 ), a major step in the process of completing the territorial integrity and consolidating national unity.

The end of the Protectorate was only the beginning of the "Great Jihad" to build new Morocco; one of the priorities was the release of the other occupied territories. It is in these conditions that in 1956 the liberation army was mobilized to liberate the southern parts of the country during the Spanish occupation.

Similarly, the speech by the late King Mohammed V at M’Hamid El Ghizlane , February 25, 1958 , attended by representatives of the tribes of the Moroccan Sahara , was decisive to move forward in the recovery of the Sahara.

In this same vein Sidi Ifni was recovered in 1969. Fighting for the completion of the territorial integrity continued until 1975 with the Green March for the recovery of the southern provinces.
