A meeting of the officers of the five Committes of the the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs was held on the morning of Saturday, 15 July 2006 in Rabat. A Council's statement stated that this meeting comes within the framework of the Committee's works which began on Thursday July13  in order to develop their program and strategy

The communiqué added that during this meeting, the heads of committees submitted reports on the perception and action plan adopted by every committee with proposals on work areas.

The source pointed out that such reports were controlled by the strong desire to achieve the goals set out by the Council’s Dahir, inspired by the contents of the Royal speech on March 25 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Laayoune during his visit to the southern provinces.

It was directed to give effect to these objectives, defend national interests, and rehabilitate local privacy and its human essence as a precondition to economic, cultural, social and political development.
