The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs won on Wednesday national Imtiaz awar of digital management granted annually by the Department of the Ministry of Public Sector Modernization to the best administration adopting information and communication technology for the definition of its activities and communication with the external environment.


Prime Minister, Mr. Driss Jettou delivered to Corcas Council, represented by its Secretary General, Dr. Maoulainain Ben Khalihenna Maoulainain, excellence award in the context of the opening of the works of the annual digital management forum organized by the Ministry of Public Sectors in Casablanca on 13 and 14 June, in recognition of its digital superiority including a bouquet of six digital websites, including political affairs, social development issues, economic and cultural affairs and the rich Sahrawi cultural heritage.

 The national “Imtiaz” award aims at encouraging administrations to integrate digital technology in the everyday functioning of administrative work, with a view to developing various digital uses that would enhance the performance of management and improve the quality of its services in various public sectors.


  Corcas websites acquired the first prize, thanks to the coverage of various areas of public life in the territories of Western Sahara in the political, economic, social, cultural and tourism fields, regarding follow-up developments and news, and their diversity of services including what is an interactive (videos, satellite maps of all Saharan cities, and what is news, analysis, and definitions, providing adequate and updated data with form and content quality. Furthermore, websites provide can be visited by the largest number of users in all parts of the world, via sites available in several languages, Arabic, French, English and Spanish.

  The Council is expected to announce in the next few days new language versions: German, Portuguese, Russian and Italian of the three sites available in four languages ie Corcas launched on 22 December 2006, Sahara Online February 23, 2007, Sahara Culture March 16, 2007.

This great digital project unprecedented nationally was launched a few months ago only. Thanks to great efforts employed by corcas to accomplish it, It was launched as integrated, strong and attractive project hence fully deserved Imtiaz award.
