This meeting was characterized by the presence of Halima Boumedian, of Algerian origin, defender of the position of the Polisario, in her capacity as Chairperson of the Committee that received the delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs

After the intervention of Mr. Ould Errachid which included all aspects of the issue, members of the Committee took the floor, and raised  a series of queries on the subject, particularly with regard to the Polisario Front and its representation of the Saharan people, as the sole representative of Sahrawis.

Mr. Khalihenna refuted this theory of the sole and exclusive representation of the Polisario, as unfounded approach on the ground, and confirmed that the Polisario do represent only a minority of Saharans and over two-thirds of Sahrawis live in the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco.

These details lest good echo to the audience, who expressed appreciation for the new strategy of Morocco to resolve the dispute represented in the autonomy proposal, stressing in this context sharing these new facts with officials to them study in depth.
