Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid, conferred, Thursday afternoon in Rabat, with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Sahara, Christopher Ross.



 The meeting was attended by Morocco's permanent representative to the United Nations, ambassador Mohamed Loulichki, and the Secretary-General of CORCAS, Maouelainin Ben Khalihanna Maouelainin, and members of CORCAS.

    Ross, who arrived Wednesday in Rabat, first leg of a tour in the region, held, Thursday morning, talks with foreign minister, Taïb Fassi Fihri, who was accompanied by head of the Moroccan intelligence agency (DGED), Mohamed Yassine Mansouri.

    He held, later on, talks with interior minister, Chakib Benmoussa, who was accompanied by secretary of state at the interior ministry, Saâd Hassar.

    On Wednesday, Moroccan Prime Minister, Abbas El Fassi, hosted a dinner in honour of Ross. The dinner was attended by the speakers of the two houses of the Moroccan parliament, members of the government, leaders of political parties represented in parliament, and the chairman and the Secretary-General of CORCAS.

    Ross is also scheduled to meet the Prime Minister and the two speakers of the two houses of parliament.

    After Rabat, Ross will go to Tindouf and Algiers. He will then travel to Madrid and Paris and return to New York for further consultations at UN Headquarters.
