  The exchange operation of family visits led by the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) between the camps in Tindouf in southern Algeria and southern provinces of the Kingdom, continued Wednesday by the organization of 4th trip for the year 2009, to and from the province of Laayoune.



This exchange was attended by 62 beneficiaries belonging to 10 families, said a press release from the Office for the Coordination of Morocco with MINURSO, a copy of which was received at the MAP.

Thus, six families totaling 29 people from the province of Laâyoune boarded at 14:00, on board an aircraft of the United Nations at the airport in this city, to Tindouf; four families totaling 33 people, from the Tindouf camps, took the same plane at 18:15.

From the same source, it is stressed that this exchange took place for the Moroccan side in good condition and that all measures have been taken to ensure a warm welcome to participants and facilitate formalities at the boarding and disembarkation airport.

The Office for the Coordination of Morocco, expressed its appreciation for the continued operation of family visits, and reiterated its call on the UNHCR to carry out tasks related to this purely humanitarian program.

Through this exchange, the total number of people receiving family visits since 5 March 2004, amounts to 7458 people including 3860 from the Tindouf camps and 3598 from the southern provinces.
