 Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs at the Mubashara Maakum" said that , "The establishment of this institution directly associated with His Majesty the King, will enable the application of the wise royal policy in the southern regions with integrity effectiveness and full transparency, he said, adding that the approach of participatory democracy that self-government is based upon will make the young people of the South and all people to restore self-confidence and the confidence in the future.



The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs at Mubashara maakom programme said that, "The establishment of this institution directly associated with His Majesty the King, will apply the wise royal policy in the southern regions in a fairly, effectively and fully transparent manner, adding that the approach of participatory democracy based upon autonomy will allow the youth of the southern regions and all people regain self-confidence in the future.
  He stressed that among the tasks of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs is to enable the people of the southern regions express their thoughts and aspirations freely and on the contents of the autonomy project. He said that this project “fits Sahrawis and opposes Polisario continuity in monopolizing representation of Saharawis.

Mr. Nabil Ben Abdellah said on the same programme that the proposal to grant autonomy to the southern provinces is not merely a national project, but gives a new dimension to the issue of Moroccan Sahara, by proposing a local management based on democratic consultation and involvement of all local actors working to defend territorial unity of the kingdom.


The minister added that Morocco through this proposal addresses the international community to say that the granting of local self-government to the southern provinces, is the only solution that can be provided to the population of southern regions in the framework of national sovereignty, is the only solution that can provide security and stability in the region, mainly as it seeks to involve everyone without exception.

He added that the Sahara affairs today is at the disposal of the local population, who are asked to provide all proposals that would support final settlement and overcome all economic, political and social difficulties.
