A Moroccan delegation held, here Friday, talks with the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, on the development of the Sahara issue under the aegis of the United Nations.



The delegation, made up of Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri and head of the Moroccan intelligence (DGED) Yassine Mansouri, also discussed with Ban Ki-moon the effective implementation of the Security Council resolution 1813 after the first series of negotiation rounds held in Manhasset, Fassi Fihri told MAP after this meeting.

    He added that talks also focused on cooperation between Morocco and the United Nations in general and the contribution of the Kingdom in the peacekeeping operations in Africa, in addition to Morocco's mobilization to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

    The delegation also included the newly-appointed Morocco's ambassador to the United Nations, Mohamed Loulichki, his predecessor, El Mostafa Sahel, Morocco's deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Hamid Chabar, and the director of the department of international organizations and the United Nations in the Foreign ministry, Nasser Bourita.
