The Moroccan community in Norway has invited the government and parliament of Norway to put pressure on Algeria to put an end to the ordeal suffered by Moroccans sequestered in Tindouf camps.

In letters addressed to the Royal Minister of Foreign Affairs and parliament, the signatories have drawn attention to "the humanitarian situation and the suffering endured by our fellow prisoners by force for over 30 years on Algerian territory".

They thus called the Norwegian authorities to use all forms of pressure on Algeria to identify thousands of Moroccans sequestered in Tindouf camps and their right to voluntary return.

Both letters were delivered on 6 November, on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of the Green March.
