A delegation of ambassadors accredited to Morocco examined, Saturday and Sunday, projects and efforts in the field of socio-economic development in the region of Oued Eddahab-Lagouira.



Diplomats held on this occasion a meeting with the Director of the Regional Center of Investment, Mr. Abdellah BOUHJAR, which presented a comprehensive briefing on the potentialities in the region and achievements that have been completed.

At the meeting, Mr. BOUHJAR highlighted investment opportunities in the region in various sectors including sea fishing, tourism, livestock and aquaculture.  

Arrived Friday evening in Dakhla in a three-day visit to the region at the invitation of the Moroccan magazine "Diplomatica", the delegation went to the port of Dakhla, where they visited the freezing unit of pelagic octopus and the thermoelectric station.

They also visited the treatment of drinking water, the construction of the new Dakhla based Terminal, agricultural farms, ostrich breeding and other public institutions.  

In addition, diplomats visited projects and tourist attractions in Dakhla, including "the camps of water sports", the Crafts Center and the new “Riad Calipau Sahara" hotel.

In statements to the press, members of the delegation expressed their satisfaction over the visit which enabled them to seek the development efforts in the region and its full potentiallities.

According to Jean Christophe Bertrand, editor of "Diplomatica", this visit is organized on the occasion of the celebration of the anniversary of the Green March "to allow diplomats accredited in Rabat discover achievements in the social and economic field in the region. "

In a statement to the MAP, Mr. Bertrand highlighted efforts to consolidate the development process in the region and improve people’s living conditions.  

He has also welcomed "the climate of stability and confidence prevailing in the region, which encourages the establishment of several companies from different countries and promotes the socio-economic development locally."

Welcoming also the region’s resources as well as facilities and benefits established for the benefit of investors, he noted that "investing in this region is sustainable, profitable and promising."
