 Guinea has reaffirmed its unreserved support for Morocco's territorial integrity and the autonomy initiative for the Sahara.t



 During meetings, here Friday, with Minister of State Mohamed El Yazghi, Guinean Prime Minister Ahmed Tidiane Souare and Foreign Minister Amadou Diallo Lamarana reiterated the traditional position of Guinea on the Moroccan Sahara and their support for the autonomy plan presented by Morocco to reach a fair and final solution to this dispute, under Morocco's sovereignty.

    The Guinean officials commended the efforts of the UN Secretary-General aiming to achieve a negotiated solution that is mutually acceptable to this issue.

    They also welcomed Morocco's historic solidarity ties with Guinea, notably through the scholarships awarded to students and the training sessions offered to the staff of the Guinean government.

    For his part, the State Minister, who represented King Mohammed VI in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Guinea's independence, reiterated Morocco’s will to consolidate and diversify its cooperation ties with Guinea, and to hoist them to the level of the historic friendship between both peoples and their leaders.
