Israel's decision to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara reinforces the legitimacy of the Moroccan position and supports the Kingdom's efforts to bring a final solution to end to this artificial conflict, stressed El Salvador's Vice President, Félix Ulloa.

Through this State decision, Israel joins the momentum of international support for the Moroccan character of the Sahara and the Kingdom's legitimate rights over its southern provinces, the Salvadoran official said in a statement to MAP.
For Mr. Ulloa, this growing momentum in favor of Morocco's territorial integrity and national sovereignty underscores the relevance of the autonomy initiative put forward by the Kingdom to put an end to this regional dispute and undermines the false and misleading allegations made by separatists.

The Vice-President of El Salvador also noted that his country, which withdrew its recognition of the pseudo-rasd in 2019, welcomes this important decision taken by Israel, which will strengthen regional relations and promote peace and tolerance in the world.

A press release issued by the Royal Cabinet on Monday announced that His Majesty King Mohammed VI had received a letter from the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benyamin Netanyahu, in which he brought to the Very High Attention of His Majesty the King the decision of the State of Israel to "recognize Morocco's sovereignty over the territory of Western Sahara".

In this respect, the Israeli Prime Minister indicated that his country's position would be "reflected in all relevant acts and documents of the Israeli Government".

In his letter to the Sovereign, the Israeli Prime Minister informed that Israel is "positively examining the opening of a Consulate in the city of Dakhla, as part of the implementation of this State decision".
