Djibouti's National Assembly Speaker Dileita Mohamed Dileita reiterated Wednesday in Rabat his country's support for the Moroccanness of the Sahara.

During talks with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Councillors, Enaam Mayara, Dileita pledged his country's commitment to support and defend this position in all regional and international events, according to the press release.
Dileita said that the main objective of his visit to the Kingdom at the head of a high-level parliamentary delegation was to learn more about the Moroccan parliamentary experience, praising the friendly relations between the two countries and the continuous momentum they have enjoyed in recent years.

Dileita also stressed the need to elevate these relations of economic cooperation to the level of the exceptional political relations between the two countries, highlighting the strategy of diversification of partnerships advocated by the Kingdom at the regional and international levels, which is nothing but a tangible example of the Kingdom's African roots.

For his part, Mayara praised the excellence of the political relations between Morocco and Djibouti, based on mutual trust and respect, pointing out that the two countries share the same visions on a number of regional and international issues.

In this regard, the Moroccan official welcomed the support of the Republic of Djibouti for the Moroccan Sahara; a support that will undoubtedly contribute to finding a lasting political solution to this artificial conflict and thus contribute to greater stability in the region.

After several explanations of the Moroccan parliamentary experience, Mayara stressed the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation by accelerating the pace of cooperation and exchanges of visits, experiences and expertise.

In this context, Mayara proposed the creation of an economic forum bringing together businessmen from both countries to promote investment initiatives in various fields.
