In a statement to the press after his talks with the chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, M. Al-Manthri praised the wisdom of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in finding a solution to the Sahara issue in accordance with international law and by peaceful means.

He also stressed the support of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations efforts to settle this issue.

Mr. Al-Manthri is accompanied, during his official visit to the Kingdom which will continue until May, 2 by a delegation including the Vice-President of the Omani State Council, Mr. Said bin Hilal Al Bousaidi and members of the State Council.

 Statement:

 "We met today with the President of the Royal Advisory Council on the Sahara who explained the issue of the Sahara. We also confirmed the Sultanate's keenness on the unity of the Moroccan territory and the wisdom of His Majesty the King and the officials in Morocco. God willing, solutions over the Sahara will be in accordance with international legitimacy, and, God willing, the issue will be resolved by peaceful means»
