Experts and political scientists were unanimous in stressing the importance of the speech by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Throne Day, which contains a "message of wisdom" in favor of peace in the Maghreb region.


It is also a speech that emphasizes the determination to achieve more progress in the Kingdom through the involvement and mobilization of all skills and potential of the Nation in the implementation phase of the new development model. According to the experts, the royal speech is also a call for vigilance against the spread of the new coronavirus.
President of the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies, Mohamed Benhammou, said that the royal speech is a gesture "of the heart, spirit and wisdom" in the direction of Algeria, considering that it is a "call to use the spirit and assume historical responsibility, to move forward and overcome the complexes of the past.


Noting that "the hand extended by HM the King to Algeria confirms once again that the convictions and choices of the Sovereign are Maghrebian," Mr. Benhammou stressed that "the closure of borders is an unnatural situation between the two countries, which affects several basic rights and essential freedoms of man," calling the reasons behind the maintenance of this closure "unfounded and unjustified.


In an analysis published on the website Atlasinfo and entitled "Mohammed VI extends again the hand of reconciliation to Algeria", the political scientist Mustapha Tossa said that the Royal speech marks a turning point and traces a "great perspective" of reconciliation between Morocco and Algeria.


"In terms of political impact, it is a shock speech that will go down in history as one of the most important in the relations between Algeria and Morocco. A turning point is thus taken. A new and great perspective is drawn, that of the total reconciliation between Algiers and Rabat, absolute pacification of spirits that decades of tensions and skirmishes have paralyzed" he said.


For his part, the lawyer and expert in human rights, Naoufal Bouamri, stressed that the speech of HM the King is a "call to Algerian leaders to prevail the voice of wisdom, reason and the collective future," adding that "the various challenges can be met only by overcoming the considerations that have agitated relations between the two countries, including those related to the existence of an intruder body that has no place in the region.


In social media, the president of the Association "Moroccans Plural", Ahmed Ghayet, wrote that HM the King has sent a sincere message to the Algerian president and people by proposing the reopening of borders.


As for the French essayist Jérôme Besnard, he described the Royal Speech as "historic and constructive". It is according to him a "source of hope for the stability of the Maghreb, essential for the Mediterranean and African security.


Academic El Hassan Abyaba, former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, spokesman of the government, stressed that HM the King, in His speech, lays the foundation for a new revolution of the King and the people entitled "National Pact for Collective Development", through the effective and pragmatic implementation of the new development model.


The Royal speech takes stock of the economic and social plans with a perspective of public policies to come, noted, for his part, the political scientist and academic Mustapha Sehimi, considering that this is a new challenge that Morocco, strong of its "human and civilizational capital", will take up again to allow "overcome the trials".


"This strength and resilience have a foundation: national cohesion, social ties and unanimous attachment to the components of the Kingdom with its sacred symbols," he said, adding that the Sovereign also paid tribute to the mobilization of all actors and organizations in the front line in the fight against Covid-19 and stressed that appropriate solutions have been made to address this health crisis and its social and economic impact with the establishment of a Special Fund, an ambitious economic recovery plan and the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment.


Political scientist and head of the Atlas Center for Analysis of Political and Institutional Indicators, Mohamed Bouden considered that the Speech emphasizes the consolidation and strengthening of achievements in completing the process of self-sufficiency in a range of areas, noting the march towards more progress and development and towards the consecration of achievements on the international level.


Regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, the researcher in health policy and systems, Tayeb Hamdi, stressed that the Sovereign has called for greater vigilance against the persistence of a health crisis that continues, noting that vigilance remains necessary to win this battle, thanks in particular to a national vaccination campaign that is conducted effectively.


Mr. Hamdi has also emphasized the key points illustrating the success of Morocco in its battle against the pandemic, citing in this context a vaccination campaign that has started, side by side, with "major countries. He also referred to the health sovereignty of Morocco, which has signed agreements relating to the project of manufacturing anti-Covid19 vaccine and other vaccines, saying that HM the King has described this sovereignty as an essential component of the strategic security of the country.


For his part, the President of the National College of Private Medical Specialists (CSNMSP), Moulay Said Afif, said that HM the King has reaffirmed that the coronavirus is not over and that "we must all assume our responsibilities by respecting the preventive measures so that the health situation does not worsen.


In addition, the member of the Scientific Committee on Immunization noted that thanks to the personal intervention of the Sovereign, Morocco has been able to have large quantities of vaccines.
