The women's empowerment program in the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region was launched on Saturday in Dakhla, enabling 500 beneficiaries to strengthen their empowerment and economic inclusion.


The subject of a partnership agreement between the Council of the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region and Ministry of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and the Family, this program aims to consolidate the participation of women in socio-economic life, giving priority to categories from disadvantaged backgrounds and in difficult situations.
This 15-month program aims to define the institutional partnership framework for the implementation of a social engineering program aimed at empowering 500 young women from the region, with a view to ensuring economic anchoring of beneficiaries at the end of the support and reinforcement actions.
With a total amount of 35 million dirhams (MDH), including a financial contribution of the Council  23 million (MDH) and Ministry 12 MDH, this program provides for the creation of 200 individual and collective projects and 500 job opportunities


It also provides for the strengthening of the economic empowerment of women in the region, through the implementation of support and capacity building actions around potential employability sectors previously identified in the framework of the implementation of the project.
Likewise, it tends to develop a regional reference framework for the implementation of income-generating projects and activities, thus allowing beneficiaries to materialize their projects and ensure an anchoring of the culture of the social and solidarity Economy
In addition, the women's empowerment program in the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region sets itself the objectives of supporting beneficiaries during the business creation phase and after the start of its activity, to organize training around business creation and workshops dedicated to project development, even provides them with financial support to start their individual and collective projects.
Speaking on this occasion, the president of the Council of the region, Khattat Yanja stressed that this program, which aims to achieve sustainable and integrated development in the region, testifies to the convergence of programs and projects between the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and Family on the one hand and the Regional Council, in terms of social protection and economic empowerment of women, through "IKRAM 2" plan.
In this context, Mr. Yanja highlighted the aspect of cooperation with the Ministry, citing in this regard the partnership agreement with the National Mutual Aid which will be implemented soon, with a total cost of MAD 12.8 million with Council contribution of MAD 10.6 million, relating to the development and equipment of certain social centers and support of cooperatives and women's associations.
This agreement relates in particular to the construction and equipment of a multifunctional space for women in Bir Gandouz, expansion and equipment of “Badr” education and training center in Alwahda district in Dakhla, as well support of 30 women's cooperatives having benefited from training in centers under the National Mutual Aid.
