It is a real large-scale disinformation operation that Algeria is trying to conduct, as usual, in recent days by inventing a document which would belong to the Bundestag as German doctrine on the Sahara Moroccan.

This new media operation was set up by "Western Sahara Resources Watch", which controls, from Brussels, all toxic lobbying and anti-Moroccan propaganda operations, benefiting from the complicity of a German MP by the name of Katja Keul, adopted daughter of Algeria, since she lived for some time in Mostaghanem, going more often to Tindouf than to the seat of the German Parliament and serves as  defender of separatist theses in her country.

What is this exactly? And what is the value of this famous "report of the Bundestag scientific committee", touted as the latest revelation, the scoop of the year on the fabricated conflict by Algiers regime around the Moroccan Sahara?

Like any parliamentary institution worthy of the name, the Bundestag has a documentation service which produces notes for internal use at the request of deputies on a topical issue often to prepare for a visit, an intervention, a text of law or motion.
The document in question was produced in March 2019 at the request of Katja Keul, known for her pro-separatist positions and was used to develop a motion against Morocco, which was quickly removed from the circuit due to its fallacious nature.

Hastly reported by the Algerian press eager for this type of information, this obsolete document  which contains a subjective, biased and eccentric analysis of the Moroccan Sahara issue, was used to spread  "a logical and inevitable evolution  of the legal reference system in the European judicial area ”.

The sentence is too heavy in words to bluff the reader, but it is in fact nothing more than a neural drivel of a gerontocracy  because in reality the only reference in the matter is the UN doctrine, in particular parameters clearly defined in Security Council Resolutions 2414, 2440, 2468, and 2494 which enshrine the realistic, pragmatic, lasting, compromise-based political solution and confirm full and entire responsibility of Algeria in maintaining the status quo and tragedy experienced by the populations sequestered on its territory in Tindouf.
This unchanging UN position was reiterated during Secretary General Antonio Guterres' last briefing to the Security Council last April.
It is this same position that is shared by the European Union. It is set out in the "Joint Political Declaration", adopted unanimously by member states, following 14th session of the Morocco-EU Association Council in June 2019.
This Political Declaration enshrined a "common language" between Morocco and EU on the Moroccan Sahara, namely the support of the efforts by the Secretary General of the United Nations to continue the political process aimed at reaching a political solution , fair, realistic, pragmatic, lasting and mutually acceptable to this artificial conflict which is based on compromise, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

The European position is also embodied in the latest texts of the agricultural, air and fishing agreements which have expressly included the Moroccan Sahara in the national territory and cut short all expansionist fantasies of Algeria and others.

As for the real position of Bundestag, tt was expressed by its president Wolfgang Schäuble during a meeting he had in Berlin with Moroccan counterpart Habib El Malki and repeatedly reiterated by representatives of the federal government: Germany supports the consensual political solution and supports the UN process underway.
