Ould Errachid told the press after the audience that he explained to the Chinese president the current problem in the Sahara and the Moroccan project that King Mohammed VI proposed for the settlement of this question by granting autonomy to Sahrawi provinces under Morocco's sovereignty.
CORCAS chairman added that the Chinese president said China "understands the concerns of the Moroccan people with regard to this question."
Jintao, said Ould Errachid, affirmed that "the Chinese government encourages a consensual solution to this problem through peaceful means and dialogue."
The Chinese president started on Monday a three-day official visit to Morocco.
