The National Association of Families of Martyrs, missing and detainees in the Moroccan Sahara has sent letters to several Italian NGOs related to "violations and abuses" recorded in this humanitarian issue, as well as practices of the Algerian authorities and Polisario torturers.

In these letters, a copy of which was received Tuesday by the MAP, the Sidi Slimane-based Association, has called these NGOs to visit Morocco to closely inquire about the ins and outs of this issue.

It also called transalpine associations to combine efforts "to be able to recover the remains of martyrs killed in the front’s jails", "shed light on the fate of Moroccans, both civilian and military, missing from the war in Moroccan Sahara" and "deliver war criminals to international justice.  "

The National Association of families of martyrs, prisoners and missing in the Moroccan Sahara, created on November 13, 1999, seeks to clarify the fate of missing persons and raise awareness about the social conditions of the families of the martyrs, missing and prisoners.

The Association has established offices in Tetouan, Meknes, Taounat, Zagora, Marrakech and Kénitra.
