The Moroccan autonomy initiative is an answer to the Security Council appeal for a political solution, underlined on Wednesday the deputy chairman of the CORCAS Mr Khaddar EL Moussaoui.

Through this proposal “Morocco answered the Security Council appeal to search  for a political solution with view to overcome the deadlock of the Sahara issue» asserted Mr El Moussaouyi before the 4th commission of the general assembly of the UN, mentioning the conditions  of which the kingdom of Morocco got its independence, and recovered its occupied territories.

The initiative “proceeded from an innovating  approach based on a democratic and political dialogue he added ,reminding of efforts done by Morocco with the aim to finding a solution to the conflict, before denouncing “ the Algerian policy which consists to oppose the territorial integrity  of the Kingdom, for  cold war reasons”.

This initiative “ is an integral part of the building of a democratic and modern society of and a state of law and liberties , able to insure  the socio-economic blossoming of the region” and “guarantee for the local populations substantial powers to secure the management of their local affairs” asserted Mr Moussaoui .

Besides, he explained that CORCAS was created to “to broadcast view points about matters concerning the Sahara region,  propose measures, initiative, actions allowing the return and integration of detained sahraouis at Tindouf, and the reinforcement of the national security” in addition to” the preservation and promotion of cultural patrimony of Sahraouis”

The deputy chairman of CORCAS considered the heavy participation of sahraouis in the legislative elections of last7th of September as a confirmation “of their willingness to fully adhere to the process of democracy in our country, and sent a clear message to the international community as to their adoption of the initiative of the region of Sahara”.

Mr El Moussaoui, finally underlined that “ the persistence of the conflict will only  make the suffering of detained sahraouis at Tindouf camps worse, and generates very serious consequences in terms of arm and drug  trafficking, underground immigration networks, in addition to the proliferation of terrorism threat, and the risk of insecurity, and instability of the whole region of Maghreb”
