Answering the royal appeal “the homeland is clement and merciful”, a Moroccan, family of eight native persons of the southern provinces of the kingdom of Morocco went back Sunday evening to the homeland flying Tindouf camps south of Algeria.

In a statement to the “Maghreb Arabe Press” Mr Hamdi Ould Lagouini, father of the family, belonging to the Rguibat Ahl Sidi Allal tribe asserted that his return is an answer to the royal appeal to live among his own family in a stability and dignity.

He equally ensured that his return to Morocco is “the best alternative to a life of despair, and misery of whom the entire detained in Lahmada at Tindouf camps suffer”

He added that the situation in the camps “is heart-breaking due to the upsurge of extortion and exploitation acts committed by members of the Polisario, and parasitical dealers belonging to the leadership of the Polisario front, this phenomenon can be particularly seen in terms of food aids such as milk for children, supplied by a number of humanitarian organizations . This vein becomes a source of enrichment for those dealers, specifies Mr Ould Sidi Lagouini.

As far as Mr Lagouini is concerned, who was once member of the Polisario army “subjects of predilection in the camps remain the situation of misery, scissions among the polisario, and the aspiration to return to the motherland.

The Ould Sidi Lagouiri family is composed of the wife Fatima Attaou Bent Al-Bachir, the brother Sidi Mohamed Ould Sidi Ould Lagouiri (37 year old), and the children: Leila (15), Meriem (7), Sidi Mohamed (6), Aicha (3), and Yasser (13 month old).

It is worth mentioning that since late king Hassan II historical appeal in the eighties known as “the homeland is clement and merciful» to Sahraouis detained in Tindouf, and for that matter to the leadership of the Polisario front to return back to their homeland, over seven thousands of sahraouis, among others political, and military leaders opted to return home in the southern provinces of the kingdom of Morocco.

Reports coming on daily basis from Tindouf describe the deteriorating social and economic situations of sahraoui detainees in Dakhla, Aousserd, laayoun, and Smara detainee camps.
