At the time of this meeting, the Chairman of the CORCAS explained the mission and goals of the council, which aim at the promotion of an overall reconciliation between all Sahraouis whether they are inside or outside the Kingdom of Morocco

He also gave an account on the historical facts of the Sahara dispute, in addition to the perspective of a settlement given by the substantial autonomy plan proposed by the kingdom of Morocco

In this respect Mr Christiensen considered that the Sahara issue is “a problem of the past which should be settled through an amicable agreement”
