The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, met Wednesday, July 17, 2019, with Rebecca Kadaga Alitwala, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda, who is visiting Morocco at the head of an important delegation, July 15th through 17th.

The talks between Corcas head and his Ugandan host, focused on the latest developments in the Moroccan Sahara, marked by the freezing of negotiations on this issue because of the intransigence of Polisario and Algeria.

During this meeting, attended by Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, Secretary General and member Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, Corcas head made a presentation in which he recalled the relevance of the solution put by Morocco on the negotiating table since 2007, stating that the United Nations and the international community, including the African family, recognized its credibility and realism.

This solution is also an interesting political example to avoid the risks of conflict and civil war in Africa, particularly because it was conceived by the representatives of the Sahrawis who compose Corcas and are directly concerned by the issue.
