Following High Instructions of HM the King, the minister of the Interior, Mr. Chakib Benmoussa, carried out Monday the handing-over of dahirs and wissams decreed by the Sovereign to the chioukh of Sahrawi tribes, on the occasion of the 8th birthday of the HM the King’s  accession  to the Throne of His glorious ancestors

A ceremony was organized on this occasion at the Palais des congrès in Laâyoune during which, Magistrate Mohamed Lhadadi, read out Dahir decreed by HM the King in favour of His trusty servants, chioukhs of Sahrawi tribes, paying tribute to their sincere patriotism and their indestructible attachment to the Kingdom’s sacred constants and values.

At the time of this ceremony, attended by the chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, CORCAS secretary-general, Mr. Maouelainin Maouelainin Ben Khalihenna, roving ambassador Ibrahim Hakim, walis and governors at the Ministry of the Interior, MPs and councils presidents elected in the southern provinces, as well as many actors and local personalities, the handing-over of Royal Wissams to Chioukhs of Sahrawi tribes was carried out in consideration of their full and entire mobilization in the tribes to which they belong and of which they ensure a leadership mission, to their efficient role to the service of HM the King’s subjects, to the interest that they grant to their affairs with all what such an action implies including seriousness, sincerity, devotion and attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne.

In a speech on this occasion, Mr. Benmoussa stressed that this Royal tribute to decree Dahirs to the chioukhs of Sahrawi tribes comes within the continuity of a tradition which has been lasting through the various stages of the Kingdom’s history and which was translated by the handing-over of Dahirs to Trusty servants of the Glorious Alaouite Throne, as a benevolence to them.
