The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Council headquarters, a delegation from the Central American Parliament, led by Assembly speaker, Mr. Armondo Bardales Paz.


At the meeting, attended by Secretary General, Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khallihenna Maouelainin, the chairman spoke about the history of the Sahara conflict, in the context of regional and international polarization that characterized the era of Cold War between the western and eastern blocks.

He also discussed the UN role in the conflict resolution process based on greater autonomy, submitted by Morocco in 2007 and described as ultimate and equitable solution. This solution is based on consensus, dialogue and peace promotion.

The parliamentary delegation from Central America on a working tour to Morocco June 14-17. In addition to President Paz, the delegation is composed of MPs from Panama, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.
