This position was reiterated during interviews that took place between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the sovereign of Saudi Arabia last Sunday in Riyadh, as part of the working visit by the Sovereign in Saudi Arabia.

A statement from the royal cabinet said that His Majesty the King reiterated full and absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in quest to defend the unity of its territory, safeguard the Holy Places of Islam and deal with any attempt to threaten peace and security in the entire region.

The two leaders also expressed their support for international efforts to fight against terrorism, deal with the Daech Organization and restore security and stability in Iraq, in symbiosis between all the components of the people, according to a multidimensional participatory approach including fight against extremism, terrorism and fundamentalist ideologies and through the promotion of development, within the framework of national and territorial integrity of this country.

During the meeting, the two heads of state expressed their pride and sincere brotherhood ties, fair cordiality and mutual esteem uniting them personally, and the two royal families and their satisfaction with the distinguished level reached by relations of fruitful cooperation and active solidarity between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They also underlined their strong determination to continue coordination and joint action to strengthen these privileged relations and hoist them to a strategic partnership in various fields and in the supreme interest of the two brotherly peoples.

These meetings confirmed the convergence of views of leaders of the two countries on various regional and international issues of common interest and at their head the developments facing the Arab region and Islamic and stressed the need to increase efforts to find lasting solutions to the conflicts faced by some Arab countries to devote himself to the defense of the Palestinian issue, which is the foundation of peace in the Middle East and the key to stability in the region.

His Majesty the King reaffirmed the solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco and support initiatives undertaken by the Custodian of the Holy Places for legitimacy in Yemen and in the region to avoid the impact of foreign interference.

Similarly, the two leaders emphasized their commitment to support all initiatives aimed at finding a solution to the Syrian crisis to end bloodshed and suffering of the Syrian people and thus meet aspirations to security and stability in accordance with the resolutions of the Arab League and the United Nations Organization.

The two leaders also stressed the need to find a settlement to the tense situation in Libya, by means of dialogue in the framework of the participation and adherence of all components of the Libyan people.

The two leaders expressed their commitment to joint Arab action to strengthen the foundations of security and stability and achieving sustainable development in the Arab region and consecration of cooperation and solidarity, with respect for the sovereignty of States and their national and territorial integrity.
