The diversion of humanitarian aid is by definition, and at any circumstances is “ outrageous” said the EPM to the MAP, such diversion was learned with a sense of ‘astonishment’ following the revelation by the European anti fraud office ( OLAF)

As far as Mr Hugues Bayet a number of questions are asked in this affair: “why the report was kept hidden in the OLAF’s drawers?  Have any measures been taken since 2007 in order to put an end to these diversions and prosecute the authors of these offences? On this basis, what are the commission’s intentions with view to make sure that transparency in a short term about the reality of facts and the follow up which was done at the European level?

 In fact it is above all , a problem  related to the” transparency of  means of  monitoring of the union “ concerning this kind of aid , the Belgium EMP believes , and who equally says to remain «extremely careful” to the  ongoing works within the budgetary control committee in the European parliament in this matter.

I hope that such revelations will allow the EU to relaunch  useful initiatives in order to favor  a settlement of the  Sahara conflict which lasted too long” he said .

The 2007 OLAF’s report  which was disclosed just last week following an intervention of the European mediator , carries heavy accusations to the Polisario and Algerians officials , and mentions names of  suspected persons to be the organizers of such diversions , which starts in the Algerian Port of Oran.
