President of the Republic of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, said that his country, which respects the integrity of the country, has always supported Morocco in the Sahara. 

"We say, as an African country and friendly country of Morocco, that Burundi, which has always respected the integrity of the country, is supporting Morocco in the Sahara," said the President of Burundi, which was invited Saturday evening by 2M TV channel.

Nkurunziza also highlighted similarities and strengths shared by Morocco and Burundi for the development of Africa, as well as "very important" role that the United plays in the South-South cooperation. "Morocco and Burundi have many similarities and many advantages for development in Africa. Morocco plays a very important role in terms of the development of the mining sector and the promotion of South-South cooperation," said the president of Burundi who welcomed the Morocco’s support in the reconstruction of Burundi, "where other countries have not responded spontaneously."

Concerning the interest of economic powers in Africa, the President of Burundi suggested that all continents "are now looking to Africa." For him, the most important for all continents is "to seek complementarity".

"We need other continents and other continents also need us," he argued. The President of Burundi takes part in the 25th meeting of the Crans Montana Forum held at the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat, under the theme "Focus on South South: More than a strategy, a necessity. "
