"The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation regarding the support of HM King Mohammed VI and the Government of Morocco to the UN efforts to find a solution to the dispute" over the Moroccan Sahara, said a statement issued following a meeting in the afternoon at UN Headquarters in New York between Mr. Ban Ki-moon and Mr. Taib Fassi Fihri, Advisor of HM the King.
Fassi Fihri delivered to the Secretary General of the United Nations a message from His Majesty King Mohammed VI on "the evolution of the Moroccan Sahara issue,".
During this meeting, the Secretary General called on Morocco to "continue to work with his Personal Envoy, Christopher Ross, and with MINURSO."
Ban Ki-moon also "hoped that bilateral relations between Morocco and Algeria continue to improve," statement concluded.
