The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Council headquarters in Rabat, a Peruvian parliamentary delegation, headed by Mr. Rolando Flores Reategui, President of the Moroccan-Peruvian Friendship Group, which is paying a visit to Morocco October 14-19, 2012.


After analyzing the details of regionalization as it is conceived in Morocco and Peru, CORCAS Chairman presented to his guests an outline of the Sahara autonomy plan, which includes the Moroccan Initiative submitted to the UN and greeted by the entire international community as serious and credible.

The two delegations also exchanged ideas on how the regional government functions at the political and economic levels, its relations with the central government, as well as the challenges it must meet to enable the realization of sustainable development in the Sahara region.

The Peruvian parliamentary delegation includes MPs members of the Peruvian Moroccan Friendship Group and the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Peruvian parliament, including the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Committee, Mrs. Lourdes Alcorta, who is also a member of the Christian People's Party . The delegation also includes Mrs. Gabriella Perez Del Solar MP at the Christian People's Party, MP Cecilia Chacon from the Fuerza Party 2011 in addition to Victor Andres Belaunde from the Popular Action Party and Carlos Bruce from the Parliamentary Concertation Party.


From the Corcas side, this meeting was attended by Corcas Secretary General Dr Maouelainin Ben Khalihanna Maoulainin, Khaddad El Moussaoui, Vice-Chairman and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, Corcas Member.

The delegation has a very important program, which includes interviews with Moroccan officials and a visit to the cities of Fez, Meknes and Marrakech.
