The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received on Tuesday at the headquarters of Corcas in Rabat, a delegation of prominent researchers from the Italian Institute for Political Studies, which is paying a visit to Morocco particularly in the southern provinces.




The delegation of the "Saint Pio V" Institute which focuses on the issue of management of pluralism in the Arab world through the case of Morocco, presented to Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid details of the project of the Italian institution.

The "Saint Pio V" Institute will publish the results of this study on Morocco in Italian, in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Rabat, under the title "Management of pluralism in the Arab countries: the case of Morocco. " This book will focus on the Moroccan experience that presents a positive model of pluralism, which enabled the Kingdom to integrate throughout its history the diversity of its sources and its ethnic and cultural components.

For his part, Corcas chairman presented to his guests the variety of components of the Moroccan identity at the heart of which the Sahrawi component, stressing the historic merger of the Sahrawi component within the national identity, without erasing the Saharan Hassani culture. 

He added that the Kingdom has always preserved its identity diversity and richness and included it by in the new constitution, adopted unanimously by the Moroccan people, last summer. This text meets their aspirations to build a democratic state that recognizes pluralism and diversity and preserve the linguistic and cultural rights of the various components of the Moroccan people.

Italian researchers undertaking a visit to the southern provinces, from January 29 to February 4, 2012, to complete the data for the work they publish about the Moroccan experience, which book consists of five sections that deal with management by Morocco of the issue of pluralism and the ability of its model to overcome the challenges of the Arab spring, thanks to its "positive pluralism in comparison with the history of other countries in North Africa", showing "specificity of its state model that was introduced after independence and has been achieved and improved gradually ...."

The "Saint Pio V" Institute whose headquarters are in Rome, was founded in 1972 , deals with historical, political and linguistic studies and contemporary issues.

This meeting was held with the participation of Secretary General of the Council, Dr Maouelainin Benkhalihenna Maouelainin and Mr. Ahmed Mguizlat, Council member.
