The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid received on Wednesday, the president of the Chilean Senate, Guido Girardi Lavin, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of an important delegation, which includes Julio Camara, Lawyer International Director of the Senate and Secretary of the Relations Commission as well as Juan Walker, Chief of Staff of the Senate President.



Mr Khalihenna Ould Errachid discussed with his host the latest developments of the Sahara in particular the negotiation process that began with the momentum triggered by the Moroccan initiative for the settlement of the conflict by granting autonomy, the most advanced self-determination form for the Sahara region. 

Mr. Guido Girardi Lavin, welcomed in this regard, the ongoing negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations between the parties to the conflict, to lead to a just and mutually acceptable to the Sahara.

The President of the Chilean Senate also described the Moroccan autonomy initiative for the Sahara as "very interesting".

The meeting was attended by, Dr. Maouelainin Benkhalihenna Maouelainin, Secretary General of the Council and Mr. Ahmed M'ghizlate Council member.
