The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received Tuesday at the Council headquarters in Rabat, Roberto Leon, member of Chilean parliament and member of the opposition Christian Democratic Party.

Mr. Ould Errachid and his guest talked during the meeting about the latest developments of the Sahara. They discussed the relevance of the Moroccan proposal to resolve this conflict, which grants broad autonomy to the region. They underlined the position of the international community and United Nations which described as "serious and credible" the Moroccan initiative that revived the issue that has remained frozen for nearly 3 decades.

It should be noted that Mr. Leon had a position that was opposed to Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara and was considered one of the most ardent supporters of the separatist thesis against the Kingdom’s integrity.

The meeting was attended by Corcas Secretary General, Dr. Maouelainin Benkhalihenna Maouelainin and Vice-President, Mr.Khaddad Moussaoui.
