The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid received at the Council headquarters in Rabat on Monday, a delegation from the Australian Senate consisting of 20 Senators.



  Following this meeting, Senator Mark Bishop, said that the Moroccan proposal granting autonomy to the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty, "deserves a serious and responsible discussion by all parties involved in the search for a just and permanent solution to the Sahara conflict. "

 Mr. Bishop welcomed the positive commitment of the Kingdom in the process of negotiating to settle this regional conflict.

 On the other hand, Mr. Bishop (Member of the Australian Labor Party) said that his delegation was impressed by the development in the city of Dakhla, visited Sunday by the Australian officials highlighting the importance of development projects, especially related to the sectors of agriculture, fisheries, housing and infrastructure development.

 The Australian delegation, which met with several Moroccan officials, includes members of the House of Representatives and Senators from both liberal and labor parties.
