"These efforts require that dialogue be the cardinal virtue, for we must keep in mind that thousands of men, women and children suffer so long as this dispute remains unresolved," Cambon told MAP upon his arrival in Morocco on a working visit.
The official, who leads a delegation of French senators, said the visit is aimed at "making assessment of things" on the ground by way of meetings with local officials.
He added that the visit is also designed to reinforce ties between the French Senate and Morocco's parliament.
The French senators will seize this opportunity to get informed about the issue of water, notably in the Sahara where they will visit several infrastructure projects related to preserving and developing water resources in the provinces of Laayun and Dakhla.
