The Caribbean states of Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts, Nevis and Saint Lucia decided to withdraw recognition of the so-called SADR, says on Monday a statement of the Foreign Ministry.

The withdrawal decisions were officially announced in joint statements issued at the end of visits paid, under high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, by Foreign Minister Taïb Fassi Fihri on August 9-13.

Recently, the Common Wealth of Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced, during a working visit to the Kingdom, his country’s decision to withdraw recognition of SADR.

These recognition withdrawals of the so-called SADR fall within the framework of the sincere willingness of the Caribbean region countries to support the ongoing negotiation process under the auspices of the UN which aims at finding a political and negotiated solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.

These decisions also stem from the willingness of the five countries to foster bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, adds the statement.
