We commemorate on Friday on July 30 the Throne Day, which coincides this year with the 11th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The Moroccan people commemorate the anniversary by paying tribute, with pride, to the strength and solidity of the ties that link them to the glorious Alawite Throne, through the construction path, reform works in the Kingdom in the recent years. During these years, especially the last four, the supreme national cause, the Sahara issue, has seen a new momentum.

This momentum has taken place through the initiatives taken by His Majesty the King about this issue which was in a serious impasse marked by the tragic humanitarian situation confronting Moroccan citizens detained in Tindouf camps. A number of these citizens continue to suffer from this situation.

This royal initiative, particularly the establishment of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and presentation of the autonomy plan triggered a new momentum which renewed the hope of Moroccan Sahrawi citizens in particular and the entire Moroccan people to end the ordeal of the separation of families and reduce the tension situation of this sterile and artificial conflict in the Maghreb region.

This initiative also launched the negotiations process and assured the United Nations the conditions enabling them to move forward in this process.

Despite the fact that other parties persisted in their attempt to bring this issue to the previous impasse, by blocking every effort trying to reach a solution, the unanimity of the international community on the credibility and seriousness of the Moroccan proposal thwarted attempts by opponents of the territorial integrity of Morocco.

This has even led to the accelerated return of detained Sahrawi Moroccans in their homeland, especially during the preceding months.
The 11th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty the King arrives at a time when the international community is increasingly convinced of the correctness of the national cause and rights of Morocco in the Sahara, backing an active diplomacy thanks to the farsighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

When this belief will be reflected in practice by continuing negotiations to reach a final solution of this case, it will preserve the Maghreb region as a whole about the dangers of insecurity and instability.
