Naciri, who was speaking before the UNHRC 3rd session, said the Moroccan initiative to grant broad autonomy to the Moroccan Sahara is a solid basis for negotiations.
He recalled that the international community hailed this initiative as a "serious" and "credible" proposal considering its conformity with the international legality and self-determination in its modern version.
He went on to say that this initiative aims at finding a final political solution to the artificial regional dispute over the Sahara, by showing realism and a spirit of compromise, and will enable the reinvigoration of the Arab Maghreb Union.
He reaffirmed Morocco's full commitment to observing human rights international standards, adding that the north African country, while stressing these rights' noble values, denounces their instrumentalization to serve the hidden agenda of other parties.
