The Moroccan people commemorate on Wednesday the 54th anniversary of Independence, celebrated November 18, which is a major event in the history of the Kingdom, because it embodies the triumph of the will of the Throne and people against colonialism and the announcement of the end of the period of trusteeship and protectorate.

This anniversary is one of the bright stages of national history and an opportunity for the Moroccan people to remember the heroism of the struggle against colonialism, which failed in its attempt to undermine the commitment of the Nation and its leader.

It is one of the most precious patriotic anniversaries strongly rooted in the hearts of Moroccans, through the prominence of this event in the national memory.

In commemorating this anniversary, Moroccans remember one picture of the commitment of the Throne and People which is being renewed, creating pride in memory of its glory, the meaning of which carries a lesson, a moral and ethics for generations, thanks to radiation and higher sense of patriotic struggle.

Thanks to the will of the Moroccan people and their heroic resistance under the leadership of the glorious Alawite Throne, they were able to defeat the colonial forces, despite the support available to them, requiring recognition of their legitimate rights and return of the symbol of their unity the late HM Mohamed V and the royal family from exile and independence.

It is legitimate that today Moroccans, after 54 years of independence, are proud of what they did on the way of accomplishments, building and unity, under the famous quote by the late King Mohammed V at his return: "Morocco quits small jihad to engage in the great jihad" with the continuing battle of liberation and the achievement of territorial integrity.

Thus HM Mohamed V, may God rest his soul, gave special attention to the liberation of the Moroccan Sahara, providing total support to the establishment of the Southern Liberation Army, whose struggle resulted in the recovery of Tarfaya in 1958.

Walking on the trail of his August father, His Majesty Hassan II, may God bless him, continued the battle for the fulfilment of territorial integrity, and was recovered at his time, Sidi Ifni in 1969, and the Moroccan Sahara in 1975 thanks to the Green March, and territorial integrity was strengthened with the return August 14, 1979 of the province of Oued Eddahab.

And the march towards building that the late King Mohammed V and King Hassan II after him practiced, continues today under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with many reforms in different sectors; large sites have been opened, in parallel with action to consolidate and preserve the territorial integrity of the kingdom and increase its civilizational radiation, country of peace, solidarity, tolerance, just place and universal humanistic values.
