The Chairman of the Royal Consultative Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid said Monday that a person who denies his nationality does not deserve any respect.

"We believe that a person who renounces his citizenship and who denies it does not deserve respect," said Ould Errachid to the press, referring to the conduct of the so-called Aminatou Haidar, adding that such a person is " lacking minimum attributes of humanity. "

"Nationality is sacred and everyone should respect it," he said noting that nationality should not be subject of political bargaining.

Mr. Ould Errachid who condemned these actions, saying they "lie outside the national unity and interests of citizens" added that the so-called Aminatou Haidar who "claimed to be an activist for human rights met with international human rights organizations and was an activist as such. "

"She had not previously renounced her Moroccan nationality, nor her rights as a Moroccan citizen," he said, stressing that she has betrayed everyone, first the authorities that treated her well and people to whom she presented herself as activist of human rights not involved in politics.

In reality "she represents separatists and works in this direction," he noted, adding that the so-called Haidar "embarked on a clear separatist company sponsored by foreign parties to conspire against the supreme national interests of the Kingdom of Morocco, including its territorial integrity "

CORCAS chairman also stressed that "separatism goes completely against the interests of the inhabitants of the region, undermines the security interest of the kingdom and violates the constitution."

"Whoever calls for separatism does not seek the interests of the people," he said.

"Therefore, Aminatou Haidar, those who follow her, those who adopt her ideas and those working in the same direction must assume their responsibilities, especially after the autonomy proposal presented by HM the King to settle the issue Sahara, there remains no reason or justification to follow the path of separatism, "he said.

Mr. Ould Rachid also reported that those who "support separatism, work in this direction or attempt to undermine Morocco’s national unity, its territorial unity or sovereignty have no place in the region as “they deal clearly and directly with the enemies of the country and its supreme interests. "

"There's no room among us for ambiguity of positions," concluded CORCAS chairman.
