The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received, Monday in Rabat, a delegation of European MPs who are paying visit to Morocco, said Moroccan Maghreb Arab Press Agency (MAP)




Following this meeting, Mrs Magda Kosane Kovacs, member of the European Socialist Party (ESP), declared that it was an opportunity for European MPs to get informed about Moroccan proposal to grant autonomy to its southern provinces.

She added that the delegation will hold discussions with a number of Moroccan officials during its presence in Morocco which will last until April 4.

The CORCAS Secretary General, Mr. Maouelainin Maouelainin Ben Khalihenna and the Council’s vice-president Mr. Khaddad El Moussaoui attended the meeting.

In addition to Mrs. Kosane Kovacs, the European delegation included Mr. Saïd El Khadraoui (Belgium, ESP), André Brie (Germany, European Unitarian Left) and Ioan Mircea (Romania, ESP).

"I didn’t have any adequate and detailed information on the situation in the Sahara. We have received a lot of information in this regard during the visit, and I'm as an official and European deputy I’ll provide assistance and help achieve peace in the region"
