In view of the impasse and the inapplicability of a referendum, the UN has invited the parties to make proposals for a political solution, said Bahaijoub, who presented on Friday Morocco's plan to achieve a final settlement of the Sahara issue.
He also deplored the situation in which the population of the Tindouf camps live as it is deprived of the most basic rights, including the right to freedom of movement.
Bahaijoub, who gave a historical overview on the Sahara issue, said that Morocco has expressed since its independence in 1956 determination to regain its southern provinces (the Sahara).
Organized by “Talk Together” Association, this meeting (August 5-18) bring together students from the Tindouf camps as well as others from the United Kingdom, Spain, the Philippines, Norway and Sweden.
