The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs participates in the regional seminar of the carribe which takes place on Tuesday 12 until 24 of May 2009 at Figate Bay (saint-Kitts –et-Nevis) initiated by the committee of 24 of the UN , under the theme of “ challenges and opportunities in the process of decolonization in the present world”.



Corcas is represented at this seminar by MR Kheddad EL Moussaoui vice president, and Mr My Ahmed Mguizlat , member of the CORCAS

This seminar would examine  the practical measures in order to  speed up the process of decolonization in this region , to valuate the  application of action plan for the second international decade of the elimination of colonialism for the period 2001- 2010 , and proceed with the celebration of the solidarity week with peoples of non-autonomous territories.

Following the previous years, the Moroccan participation at this seminar, will allow to thwart the Polisario and Algeria speech, and consolidate its position in terms of dealing with the national question, in order to balance debate on self-determination, taking into account the latest development in the UN.

It is worth mentioning that the general assembly of the UN, created in 1961 a special committee which was called the committee of 24, composed of 17 members and in 1962 the number went p to 24. This committee is in charge of the follow –up of the application of the statement on decolonisation and the presentation of recommendations of this issue .
